ETC Nova Hackathon Boosts Ethereum Classic Ecosystem

Ethereum Classic (ETC) successfully concluded its inaugural global hackathon, ETC Nova, distributing 28,400 ETC in prizes and advancing the network’s long-term growth.

As ETC’s first-ever global hackathon, ETC Nova attracted developer teams from numerous countries, yielding 29 innovative projects. These spanned decentralized exchanges (DEXs), stablecoins, cross-chain bridges, GameFi, and social protocols, enriching ETC’s Proof-of-Work (PoW) ecosystem and highlighting its vast potential.

The initial prize distribution of 20,900 ETC (approximately $420,000 USD) has been completed, recognizing achievements in categories like Student Participation, Most Popular Projects, and Tracks Awards. The event energized the ETC community and accelerated the development of critical infrastructure.

Building on this success, planning for Season 2 of the ETC Nova Hackathon is underway, targeting emerging areas such as AI, Real-World Assets (RWA), stablecoins, and on-chain asset management. Additionally, EGD is enhancing its Global Ambassador Program with new Community, Content, and Student Ambassador roles, including a dedicated Student Ambassador Track to engage university developer communities.

ETC Nova represents a milestone in ETC’s ecosystem strategy, reinforcing its role in the global PoW landscape. The network is poised for continued growth, fostering an open, resilient, and dynamic ecosystem that drives value for PoW networks.
